Judgement Day 2016
The Judgement Day meeting at York Raceway signals the end of our 2016 season – with all the classes over and done with, this meeting is always a RWYB affair. This year, they had organised a “big bracket” class which anyone can enter, in the hope of getting some of the regular racers back out for one last meeting before winter.
In terms of the RWYB cars, there were the usual wide range of vehicles which turned up – everything from a classic Vauxhall Cavalier to a McLaren MP4-12C. Or if you’re into your bikes, there was a slightly outrageous mono-wheel!).
Unfortunately there quite a few incidents which meant track closures, including a rather large moment for York regular Ian Walley who clipped the barriers in his Ford Cortina & a massive engine failure going through the finish for a RWYB Subaru – hope you both get your machinery fixed up soon!
This is just a selection of my favourite images. If you’re looking for specific photos and can’t see them here, please try our Facebook page for the full gallery.
We’ve also compiled a list of every car that’s covered the quarter mile in 8.99 seconds or less since we started going back in 2007, you can take a look here.
