Against the odds – Elvington war weekend
The “Against the Odds” war weekend at the Yorkshire Air Museum is an event we’ve wanted to get to for the past couple of years & this year, we finally made it!
It was fantastic to be able to see the Halifax outside – every time we’ve visited the museum, it’s been tucked away in the hangar. In addition to the Halifax, all the jets (apart from the Victor & Nimrod) had been hidden away, and all the WW2 planes brought out into plain sight.
Add to that all the actors and visitors dressed in period attire, a flypast from a Spitfire and The Seatones performing several times throughout the day & you get a wonderful atmosphere.
This is just a selection of my favourite images. If you’re looking for specific photos and can’t see them here, please try our Facebook page for the full gallery.
